After two years of co-hosting the ACM Awards, Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley have been replaced. Bentley was the one that let it slip at a Q&A at CRS (Country Radio Seminar) earlier this week. “That’s over… We got fired,” he said according to Billboard. “Is that not common knowledge?”
Bentley replaced Blake Shelton as Bryan’s co-host two years ago. Bryan has also hosted in previous years alongside Shelton. There is no word on who is set to host the award show this year. Letting go two of the biggest name in country music makes you wonder who is going to replace them. Is it time for some girl power from female hosts?
Dierks Bentley isn’t letting this stop him from rising to the top this year. He has one of the most anticipated albums and tours of 2018. The Mountain is due out this summer.
He also announced a new clothing line called Desert Son. “I love clothes that are perfectly worn-in like you’ve had them a lifetime, but can also take the wear and tear that comes from an active lifestyle. I’ve learned over the last few months that there’s a real art to getting that just right. The Flag & Anthem guys have been doing it at the highest level and have helped me put together a collection that I think is totally authentic to me and one that hopefully people all over the country will dig too.” he told Taste Of Country.
Bryan also announced a new tour. The What Makes You Country XL tour is set to come to Metlife Stadium on June 2nd with Sam Hunt and Jon Pardi. Stay tuned to Thunder106 for all of the latest news from Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, and the ACM Awards.
