Carrie Underwood introduced us to her upcoming album, Cry Pretty, with her single called the same thing. After being out of the spotlight for a while, she debuted the song the ACM Awards and she’s ready to let us in on what inspired the album and what we can expect from it.

Willie Nelson believes that country music is “three chords and the truth”, but then when it’s not about love or loss, it’s a story, much like Underwood’s ‘Two Black Cadillacs’, ‘Choctaw County Affair’ and ‘Blown Away’. “You know, I don’t think I kill anybody off on this album. I know! It’s so unlike me. Everybody lives at the end,” she told Taste Of Country.

Underwood’s past albums have always given you a glimpse into her life and it doesn’t seem like the new album will be any different. “When you go into write you’re drawing off of personal experiences and you’re talking about people that you know, or friends that are dealing with things. Your life influences your music for sure,” says Underwood.

Cry Pretty is due out on September 14th! Make sure you stay tuned to Thunder106 for all of the hottest cutting edge country!
