CMA Awards 2019: A Full Recap

As always you can expect a great show from the artists involved with the CMA Awards. There were many awards that were given to the expected artists and bands, but there were quite a few happy surprises, as well!

Kieth Urban took home the most coveted award of the year. As he accepted the award, he was clearly surprised and a bit shocked.

Carrie Underwood was thrilled when she won Female Vocalist Of The Year. That was one of the few awards no a single person in the crowd disagreed with. Despite the fact that she’s expecting her second son to arrive very soon, she hosted the award show with style and confidence and she also flawlessly performed her new song, ‘Love Wins’. Underwood, with the help of her co-host, Brad Paisley, announced that she was expecting a baby boy.

Luke Combs won New Artist Of The Year, Brothers Osborne won Duo Of The Year, Old Dominion took home Vocal Group Of The Year, Thomas Rhett won Music Video Of The Year for ‘Marry Me’, David Lee Murphy and Kenny Chesney won Musical Event Of The Year and Mac McAnally won Musician Of The Year.

After Garth Brooks paid tribute to the victims of the Thousand Oaks victims, Luke Bryan opened the show with a performance of ‘What Makes You Country’. He was joined by Luke Combs, Lindsay Ell. Chris Janson, Cole Swindell, Jon Pardi and Ashley McBryde.

Miranda Lambert may have left the show without a win, but she delivered two of the most memorable performances of the night. She joined Jason Aldean to perform their #1 single, ‘Drowns the Whiskey’ and then joined her powerful girl gang, Pistol Annies, to perform ‘Got My Name Changed Back’.
