Dierks Bentley Branching Away From Music And Into The Television Business

Another year, another new project for Dierks Bentley. He is branching out away from the music scene for two new projects coming to a TV near you! He told CMT‘s Cody Alan that he has been working on a show for FOX that will be similar to Cheers, but it will take place in Nashville. The other show will be about the Hot Country Knights, Bentley’s 90’s cover band, which you can find on Facebook here.

“It’s more of a ‘Spinal Tap’ meets ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ type of situation,” he told Alan about the Hot Country Knights show. It’s really no surprise that a musician found inspiration in the 80’s classic comedy, Spinal Tap. Bentley has partnered with one of the main writer of Modern Family.

“The Fox show, though, is more of a “‘Cheers’ of Nashville” kind of thing. Of course, you remember the show ‘Cheers’ based out of Boston. This show revolves around a bar in Nashville, and you have this great bar owner, who’s seen it all, been everywhere, and is kind of like a Sally Fields type character,” he continued.

This new project isn’t stopping Bentley from doing what he was born to do. He will be on the road until March for the Burning Man Tour this spring with Jon Pardi and Tenille Townes.
