“Love may not always be easy, but that’s when it matters most.”

Eli Young Band is sharing the heartbreaking story of a young couple who’s lives were drastically changed after one of them were injured in Afghanistan with help from the Wounded Warrior Project. Taylor Morris was on tour in 2012 when he was involved in an explosion, which left him as a quadruple amputee. His girlfriend, Danielle, stood by his side and helped him through his journey.

The band went to the non-profit, the Wounded Warrior Project, and asked if they knew any couples that wouldn’t mind sharing their story and would like to be featured in the music video. “There is such a special thing with this couple,” Mike Eli told Billboard.

It’s been easy for Eli to understand what this couple and so many other soldiers go through. “I had two brothers who served in the Marines, and I know what my sisters went through in waiting for them to come home. Then, even when they do, sometimes their life is not always easy – whether it’s the remembering [what happened] or the friends that they lost. It’s a hard thing for them to figure that stuff out. It’s a lot harder than we all realize,” he continued.

The Wounded Warrior Project helps veterans and active duty soldiers that have returned from the battle field assimilate to life back home. “We are here for their first step, and each step that follows. Because we believe that every warrior should have a positive future to look forward to. There’s always another goal to achieve, another mission to discover. We are their partner in that mission,” says the WWP’s website.
