Jason Aldean + Other Stars Pay Tribute To Route 91 Victims

It’s hard to believe that is already been a year since a gunman opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. Jason Aldean was in the middle of his set, the last performer of the festival when the shots began to ring out from a nearby hotel. 58 people were murdered and hundreds more were injured.

Aldean and his band ran from the stage in the middle of their performance of ‘When She Says Baby’ as the crowd frantically searched for coverage. A year later, hearts have not healed. Aldean’s wife, Brittany, was pregnant at the time and also in attendance. She is just one of the several people who took the time on the anniversary to remember the country fans we lost on that tragic day.

Chris Young wasn’t at the festival to perform, but he was there as a fan. He was backstage admiring Aldean’s performance as the tragedy struck.

Eric Church, who also performed at the festival, wrote ‘Why Not Me’ as he mourned the fans we lost and he then performed it at the Grand Ole Opry just days later. “The only way I’ve ever fixed anything that’s been broken in me is with music,” he told the crowd.

We will continue to remember and pray for all those we lost and those that were effected by this massacre. We will continue to be “Country Strong”.
