WCW: Miranda Lambert
In the country music community, we have an abundance of strong women to look up to and they are making history every day. Miranda Lambert was tied with Brooks and Dunn for winning the most ACM awards until just last week when she took home awards for the Song Of The Year for ‘Tin Man’ and for Top Female Vocalist for the ninth consecutive year.
Lambert has had a crazy few years with her personal life in the spotlight, sometimes overshadowing all of her accomplishments. “Thank you for sharing my broken heart,” she said while accepting the ACM Award for ‘Tin Man’.
Just before the 2017 ACMs, Lambert decided to change what she had planned to perform and went out on stage with nothing but her guitar. It was an absolutely unforgettable performance that people are still talking about. It made her performance this year, one of the most anticipated. Lambert certainly didn’t disappoint as she performed ‘Keeper Of The Flame’, which turned out to be a perfect follow up.
Lambert is a busy woman. When she’s not on stage or working on her next album, she’s rescuing dogs and finding them thier forever home through a non-profit she created with her mom or working on her clothing line, Idyllwind or working at her store, The Pink Pistol, in Texas.
It appears we may be hearing from Lambert’s girl band, The Pistol Annies, in the not too distant future. “We’ve been writing, and we’ve written some of my favorite songs I’ve ever written in my life. We went to Miranda’s farm last week and really hunkered down and got some good stuff,” Hippie Annie, Ashley Monroe, told The Boot.
