Reba McEntire made her Grand Ole Opry debut in September of 1977. Performing at the Opry is one of the biggest accomplishments for every country musician. For Reba, it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing.
Typically, every artist performs 2-5 songs, but Reba’s set was cut to just one song because Dolly Parton showed up to grace the audience with a surprise set. Reba’s family was in the audience and drove more than 1000 miles to see her three-minute performance.
This September is the 40th anniversary and she’ll be celebrating by returning to the legendary stage for two nights.
Throughout her career, she has released more than 30 albums, appeared in more than 10 movies, and starred in and produced two TV shows.
