Breakthrough T1D Annual Walk Returns to Long Branch to Support Type 1 Diabetes Research
October 18 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm
Breakthrough T1D New Jersey, formerly JDRF, will host its annual Breakthrough T1D Walk on October 18, 2026, at the Great Lawn in Pier Village, Long Branch. The event will bring together families, businesses, schools, and community supporters to raise awareness and critical funds for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Sal Giorgio, on behalf of C&A Financial, will serve as Corporate Chair for this year’s Walk, helping rally the local community in support of those living with T1D. Novo Nordisk will serve as the local presenting sponsor.
The event will feature a 5K walk, kids activities, DJ entertainment, community vendors, and more, creating a day focused on community, connection, and progress toward a world without type 1 diabetes.
“This walk is about more than raising funds—it’s about bringing our community together to support families living with type 1 diabetes every single day,” said Sal Giorgio, Corporate Chair. “Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to a world without T1D.”
Breakthrough T1D Walks take place in communities across the country and help fund research focused on curing, preventing, and treating T1D while improving the lives of those affected by the condition.
